Anybody have a videocard where they are using both a DVI LCD monitor and TV-out simultaneously?

Like the title says. I'm currently using my DVI LCD monitor with my AIW Radeon, but i can't enable TV-OUT simultaneously. According to the manual, you can't do it. Why, i don't know... So when i want to watch TV-OUT, my LCD blacks out and i need to navigate around with my TV, which is across the room and thus hard as hell to do.

So is there a videocard out there that can use both simultaneously? It doesn't even need to be an AIW, just something with TV-OUT.

I've done it before, but on a mobile one. Call up ATI support, they have really great support. I called up the other day because my Winfast 2000XP Deluxe was being detected as an ATI TV Wonder VE. They gave me directions for the registry, programs, etc. and it worked like a charm! If your computer is running close to the PSU's max outage, maybe it can't handle that output but I don't think it really needs all that much power... hmm

Also might want to make sure that you have the latest drivers

I'm sure it doesn't work for the AIW... it has nothing to do with PSU (although mine is a 450w antec) or drivers. It says in the manual that it won't operate with both DVI and TV-out simultaneously. I'm just wondering if there's a card out there that does.

Moralpanic,

I also have AIW Radeon - no dvi out & s-video out simultaneously either.

What you need are video cards that have dual heads (2 x ramdacs to feed video to 2 different outputs simultaneously) support.

Radeon VE has dual head - one of the cheapest options.

Most radeon 8500(and LE) and up have this capability with Hydravision software (in the driver) & 2 ramdacs on hardware.

My Asus geforce 4 ti 4200 has this capability with nvidea Twinview software (in the driver) and 2 ramdacs on hardware but I'm not too familiar with nvidea hardware to say which models have this capability.

assign short cut to display scheme, such that you can switch the setting on the fly. You can save the display scheme in the display setting(where you switch off TV-out, monitor, etc). It is kind of hard to catch, if you have never done it before. Look carefully.
