Anybody have a netgear wgr614 v5?

Ok, so I have a Netgear WGR614 v5 Wireless G router. I bought one and at first could not get it to work as just an access point behind my Vonage wired router - it kept getting confused. Decided it was defective and exchanged it for the exact item. I finally got it working behind the vonage router for about 2 weeks - than it randomly stopped working. The

The wired part works fine - but I can not for the life of me get it to broadcast any type of wireless signal. I've changed SSID, enabled/disabled every setting pertaining to wireless, tried enabling and disabled DHCP (keep it mind, this is with this alone, not even behind the vonage router).

I know my stuff about networking - and I just can not figure this out. Return period is over - and like I said, this is the 2nd one i've tried.

Are you use that your wireless NIC (in your laptop or whatever) is working properly? Try netstumbler and see if you can detect the wireless signal that way. Have you tried updating the firmware?

yes my NIC works - It seems all the other access points around me, including my old 802.11b and a Belkin 802.11g. Neither my PC or Mac see the Netgear. I did try updating the firmware, I may try downgrading if I can. I highly doubt this thing is broken since it is the second one - I think they might just be tricky.

Step 1. Put the Netgear on its own on a computer, switch off all the other Wireless Gizmos. Use a second computer (laptop) with functional Wireless Card, and Test the Netgear.

If it does not work under such conditions, you have ?double bad luck? and you need to RMA this unit as well.

Step 2. If the unit worked well on its own, start switching On your system (one device at the time) until you find out where the Bad interaction is?
