This type of cable

I didn't know it was such a pain! The CSR told me to do this:

"You will need a sharp razor or utility knife. Lay the cable flat on a table and cut down from the top between the two conductors about 1.5" from the end of the cable. Only cut through the top outer jacket (do not cut though to the bottom layer) Slowly work your way towards the end of the cable. Once you have the top split, you can peel the cable away from the outer jacket."

But it takes forever! Are there any tools, or should i just buy some normal, untwisted wire?

Uh, I would just use a knife to make a slit in the outer casing.. grab the two wires in one hand, the casing in another.. and pull it all the way down.

There are jacket cutters, but you can just grab the floss-looking filaments and pull them thru the outer jacket to cut down as far as you want, then just trim off the excess.

run a razor knife down the middle of it and peel it off, or shave it like a carrot

will wire stripers not work

I'm guessing it's the outer jacket that's the problem.

Yes! Plus, sometimes if you cut the inner wire jackets, they stick to the outer jacket as well! It's not so much a problem though, since they will be stripped anyways. I've only practiced a few times and my fingers are tirredd!
