Hm, if it comes with no AC then what happens when you update the firmware? Do you have to go out and buy an AC adapter just to be able to turn it on again? Or does the 5th gen not have that requirement?
 
You might as well wait and see what Apple might release very very soon. You might want that, and ipod prices will fall if you still want a 5g.

No dock keeps the cost down. I have never used a dock. Just a usb cable in a couple of locations. I have to admit I have the Sounddock and can charge off that as needed.
