I have negotiated the purchase price and made a deposit on a 07 Honda CR-V. The dealership has to locate the car with the options I want. This will take at least a week or so. The honda dealership states the honda rate is around 6.9% but nothing in writing.

Checking rates online I have found Wells Fargo has a rate of 5.99. Has anyone financed a car online with wells fargo? Any loan orginaltion fees or other hidden fees that they don't disclose on their web site? No mention of extra fees in my research. They do state that they will overnight you the docs so I'm sure they would charge for this.

Excellent credit rating and only financing 10k for 36 months. Is it worth the hassel for 1%?

Any help appreciated.

Defiantly avoid the dealer financing. They have all sorts of tricks and BS you don't need to deal with.

Get a pre-approved loan from an online lender. They will send you a blank check good up to a certain amount. Pay the dealer with the check.

I have financed two cars this way, only way to go.

I have financed through capital one auto finance (with costco discount). Was trouble free!

The dealer has no special end of year financing deals (3.9%, etc?)

No special financing on the new style CR-V. Any other Honda and it's 2.9 or 3.9.

The first dealer I went to I told them I wanted to buy a CR-V. Salesman said OK I'll sell you one for sticker price. MSRP. I said no thanks and he let me walk.

Got a much bigger deal in a larger city 90 miles away. Any input on additional charges for online financing? Anybody used well fargo or suggest an online auto loan service. Bank rate and eloan don't offer loans in my state.

Nope we originally financed through the dealership.

After 1 year of making on time payments we re-financed through a local credit union :)
