Anybody familiar with this receiver?

Ok I have this Sony STR-G3 receiver and I've had it for a little while, quite happy with it even though it isn't Dolby Digital. In any case it has this output on the back of it that's baffled me for the longest time as to what it's purpose is. This output is labeled as follows, it has a white border that at the top says Mixed and then inside the border right by the RCA connector is Audio Out. Would this be some kind of output to an equalizer or something else? I'd really like to know if this would be of some use to me.

Well I bought it on the AT FS/FT forum boards and the manual that came with it is sparse to say the least. No mention as to what the output does in it anywhere, net searches on google have yielded the same. Asked the seller and he doesn't know either since he never used it.

My guess is it's an output for "mixed" subwoofer, meaning that it directs the low-end Prologic mix (L/C/R) that connects to an amped sub. Ripped from SonyStyle:
Subwoofer Mix Output: The full-range Subwoofer Mix output connects to an amplified subwoofer. The ?mix? refers to the combination of the front 3 channels in Dolby Pro Logic surround or the combination of the left and right channels in stereo. The channels are mixed because the subwoofer operates in mono
