Anybody ever ordered from Mwave? How are they compared to Newegg?

How are they? I've never heard of them, how's their reputation. The reason I'm asking is because that's the only site that currently has eVGA 7900 GT CO Superclocked in stock. At least it's the only place I've found. So, how are they?

Sorry, just realized this is wrong forum. How do I move/ remove it?

They're pretty good, comparable to the other major online retailers. I got my cards from them.

I have never ordered from them, but have some friends locally who have. It might be of interest to you to read their reviews on reselleratings.com http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2089.html

I would certainly think twice about ordering from them. Seems they have a history of selling out and not keeping their website updated. And most who experienced this had to call them to get a credit back after they had already charged them when they didn't have the item in stock. Read the dissatisfied reviews back a few pages.

good luck

Yeah, I just read some of the reselleratings. I'm a little nervous now, since I already ordered. Most of the dissatisfied people said that the "in stock" item they ordered wasn't actually in stock. And then it was a hassle to cancel the order. I hope I have better luck.

I've bought many items from them over several years and had no problems, so far. I've ordered late in the afternoon a couple of times, eastern time zone, and it still shipped that evening. If I need something shipped same day, I look there first. I've found some very good prices there, also. I can't recall having had to return anything to them, so I can't vouch for customer service.

I used to occasionally order from ZZF, and if I would have seen the bad reviews about problems with returns on reselleratings I would have never dropped 1600 beans there a few weeks ago. They sent me a clearly bad set of $300 corsair memory, and stuck me with a $45.00 restock fee when I returned them. If you have time read this to the end.

Point I am trying to convey is if I would have known I would have followed my gut and avoided them, and wouldn't be out the $$.

If you would have exchanged them instead of returning them you wouldn't have been charged a re-stocking fee, or shouldn't have.

I have purchased from them and since they are in socal I just will call everything. I think they do very well in this area cause you can confirm your products are in stock then drive up there and get them. Overall I have had nothing but good dealings with them even though they charge 5 bucks for will call.

I had contacted their customer service dept. and Mr Jason Louis told me I would be refunded in full since the memory was defective. That is what I based my decison on to return them instead of having them replaced.

I've been ordering from them since 1998 and have never had any problems. I've always thought of them as #2 after NewEgg, they don't seem to ship as quickly but often their prices are a little better. I saved about $80 once by buying my CPU and motherboard from them and the rest of the system from NewEgg.

Isn't Chief Value dead? What's the point of NE carrying CV where NE has just about everything one could possibly want to order/purchase? I don't get it.

The one time I ordered from Mwave was for my X2 4400+. They actually called me to let me know that my ordered shipped and to expect an email w/ tracking information. If I didn't live in CA now and want to avoid paying sales tax, I would buy from them in a heartbeat.

CV is generally a few % cheaper than Newegg, but you probably pay for it with worse customer support. Think of it like bottom - tier newegg for the extra cheap.

I ordered a couple of CPUs and other components from mwave. No problem whatsoever. Since I lived in the Los Angeles area, the items usually arrive the day after I order.

Mwave is a good online vendor, I wouldn't worry about them at all. I've made multiple purchases from them and have been satisfied everytime.

I was a little worried if they actually had them in stock, since nobody else did. But, my worries were for nothing. I ordered yesterday. They shipped today. Fedex says I will have it tomorrow. They are out of stock on them now, though. Lucky I ordered when I did.

Oh yeah. Sorry for doubting you, Mwave.

My dad bought a case from Mwave about a year or so ago. We got it and it felt pretty. Wondering what it could be, we opened it up to find an asus mobo, a p4 2.8 ghz (socket 478), and 512 mb ram. At the time (again, I don't quite remember when), I computed the value of the parts based on newegg pricing to be a total of about $600. My dad was kind enough to give the parts to me for use in my current computer. :)

Yeah yeah. You're probably thinking "didn't do the right thing and call them and tell them?". Yeah. We did. We called and told 'em what was in it and that it was a mistake. They demanded that WE ship it back at OUR expense. We said no, but we would give the parts back if they arranged for pickup or maybe even just a shipping label. They said that they wouldn't do this, so I kept the parts. Nothing ever came of it, and so here we are today.
