So I started watching this show when it started & just kind of got hooked. It was a good, creepy, "someone's watching you", "look over your shoulder" kind of thriller. The "bump in the night" mixed with some good actors, good music and complex story lines.

Well, CBS cancelled the show this week. (facepalm)

Yes, there was some stereotypical crime-drama oriented stuff (I'm not saying it's the greatest show ever) but FAR above the C- level of writing that have dumbed down so many other shows. Like CSI Cyber? Seriously? (PATHETIC!) And yet that show got renewed.

Anyway.....if you happened to ever watch it & liked it or be a regular viewer & care to take a few seconds, somebody started a petition via change.org from the Stalker facebook page to hopefully get the show renewed. I figure it couldn't hurt. Maybe even another network with better marketing skills will do a better job marketing it.................

Petition CBS to bring back Stalker for a 2nd season!!

The title of this thread made it sound like you are petitioning FOR its cancellation rather than petitioning AGAINST its cancellation. The post itself didn't ever clarify that it has been canceled and didn't seem particularly enthused about the level of writing ("above C-").

Thanks for (not?) writing.

I see how the title could have been misleading. (Though the "above C-" writing was in reference to the million other crime dramas out there that are just so predictably written at about the 5th grade level of intellect that they almost insult the mind).

I'll change the thread title & edit the body a bit to clarify.

Thx

I once did stalk a stalker once. I was 50 yards away from this high priced looking dude as if he was a 20 million dollar a year lawyer in downtown D.C. and he was following this asian girl. The following must have gone on for 45 minutes or more.

But finally it came to as I suspected and he tried to man handle her to have her follow him.

I walked up and acted surprised as if I knew her and was close friends with her spoke a few words of chinese to her.

His face got red full of anger and resentment at me being there trying to do the same thing back to me as if he knew her.

Finally in a huff he left and she gave me a worried tear of a smile and said thanks and I walked her home making sure he was not following. I am sure he was looking for a next victim.

She and I never traded names or numbers. I told her I saw this happen before.
Instead of saying good bye I just said - Be safe! then waved at her then I walked back to foggy bottom metro.

Was always wanting to find that jerk again. Maybe one day.

Barely decent popcorn/mindless show.

It would be fine if the writing/direction wasn't so horrible. Like many cop/suspense shows the cops and victims are incredibly stupid until the end of the show where they are quickly able to resolve the issue and show up just in the nick of time.

Glad it's cancelled. It's a disturbing show, but honestly the show has zero depth.

Disturbing how?? Stalkers stalk & scare people, it thrills the viewer & that's disturbing??

How about Criminal Minds?? You want to talk about a shallow written, just in the nick of time, disturbing write & directorial mess? It's like Disney channel + Disturbia had a baby. Cutting body parts, etc.?? Why does that get renewed??

And if there's any greater depth in the last several seasons of any NCIS, CSI or LMNOP, I've yet to find it. Those are just plain ridiculous.

At least Stalker challenged your thought process & was good for some old fashioned scare tactics that are as timeless as any.

What a load of crock.

Stalkers is one of my guilty pleasures but since they
killed Perry and Ray
, I've lost interest. Beth and Janice are

I'd rather sign a petition to revive Gang Related on Fox, another guilty pleasure.

You lost me there. Perhaps it got "better" after the first few episodes I watched, but really it wasn't any better than your garden variety B-rated horror flick rerun on syfy in terms of, well, anything. Speaking of Disney, hell... most Disney movies had more depth than Stalker did.

Your sense of taste is improving. ;)

(I was wondering why your post was partially blacked but noticed you used spoiler-code....got it!)

Yes, there were some good plays mid-season. On top of some decent writing, great acting and fairly good directing (though admittedly fashionable since the advent of Law & Order's rapid-sequencing of development to squeeze the show into an hour) I truly enjoyed the other story lines going on all whilst playing on a typical "whodunnit" and "bumps in the night" spook factors.

Combine that with the great music (especially the ending scenes retro slow groove stuff) and it was just a great package with lots of upside potential.

And, I sound like a broken record but the biggest offense is the shows that they *DO* renew......I could take about 50% of 2015's primetime lineup & flush it down the toilet for the crap that it is. (facepalm)
