anybody else having problems running pirates on x800xl?

those are kid technical terms... i thought it was pretty good communication for a teenager...

sid meier's pirates is the game...

it seems that the ocean and the sky color shift randomly from light to dark, one color to another... not like gpu or memory oc stuff, but the whole part of the scene changes colors...

i've seen a few posts on other boards that the game is a bit buggy and there's supposed to be a patch (first one) coming out at some point...

I have an X800XL (AGP) and have been playing Pirates. The game looks great without the problems you mention. I've been playing with the patch for the game (it is available now) and the latest Catalysts (5.4) so you might need one or the other to fix the problem. I installed the patch before playing so I never saw how version 1.0 looked with the card.
