I have all those and I'm having trouble overclocking. Have you gotten your fsb to overclock, if so, how? I can't seem to get mine over 133 and still be stable. Also, how would I change between 133/133, 133/166, and 166/166, like they did in the roundup? I have a Volcano 7 and 4 case fans so cooling is not a problem. I also have the latest bios.

I can't actually help you, but you may want to try the Iwill Forum at amdmb.com. Its fairly active and they have alot of overclocking questions and tips. There also seem to be a fair number of posters willing to help out with problems. Good luck.

I do have the xp333 and AMD 1700+ but I haven't started getting into any overclocking.

Could it be your multiplier? Your XP1700 runs at what 11.0 x 133 for 1.47 GHz? Now bump up the FSB to 166 you get 11.0 x 166 for 1.86 GHz, maybe your processor can't handle that much overclock. You'll have to reduce the multiplier by unlocking your cpu, or increase your cooling so that it will run at 166 FSB at the stock multiplier. Unlocking the CPU is probably necissary to run at 166 FSB, I think I'm going with a 1.4GHz T-Bird for just that reason. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

hehe, just noticed increasing your cooling is likely not to help, you have that covered it seems:D

You are correct. Either unlock the processor or get a XP+1500 or 1600 which has a 10, 10.5 multiplier and should handle near 166MHz FB overclocks.

You need to update the BIOS...and I have yet to find a locked XP CPU that'll do 166FSB. The highest I have hit on a locked XP square is 151FSB.
