Anybody else have bad allergies this time of the year?

I do.. they're especially bad today, my Allegra doesn't seem to help. Benadryl makes me sleepy at work all day long.. any ideas?

Yup I have quite severe fall/spring allergies. After Claritin-D, Zyrtec and Zyrtec-D stopped working, I finally went to an allergist and now get monthly shots. It helps a great deal, and insurance picks up most of the bill.

I think the Fall allergies are lasting longer this year.

If Allegra doesn't help then why not ask your doc to switch you to something else? I've heard Singular is a good one.
I know people who've had luck with an oral allergy med combined with a nosespray like Nasonex.

I've had success with a regular histamine and ibuprofen when Allegra-D starts to fail me. The histamine stops the annoying reactions, and the ibuprofen helps cut down the inflammation so I can actually breathe.

Other than that, Astelin as FlashG mentioned is pretty good. It doesn't last very long for me though.

I have to take Astelin et all every day because I have a chronic athsma condition. Its not a one time medication and it needs to build up in your system to work as intended.

Claratin gets me by unless it's bad. Right now it's bad due to the So. Cal fires. (I work next to the Santiago fire in Orange County). So it's only the drowsy stuff that gets me by.

I breath out of one nostril 99% of the time. Not sure if it's an allergy or genetic suckage, but my nose does get extra irritated around this time.
