Ausm

I was twenty when I arrived in-country.

No offense, Ausm, but I didn't have to go, I joined the Army and volunteered for VN.

Missed it by a couple of years. High lottery numbers in '72 and '73. Hat's off to you guys.

Thank you!!

I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time.

My uncle did and didn't return. I think my dad was in the AF academy during the end or there abouts.

1 Uncle directly in Vietnam (including some operations in Cambodia), 2 Uncles who volunteered that got to serve in Spain and Hawaii

All on my mom's side of the family. She still remembers doing the whole family prayer thing for them (especially the Uncle in Vietnam) every night.

I was like 22 then - way back in 'Ought - 66.
HappyPuppy - My son is now in 101st - MI Target Identifier. Hasn't left Conus yet - @ Ft. Campbell, KY
He'll probably go over next week.

my dad's cousin went. He was in special forces. When he served his time, he voluntered again. I guess it made it seem his only purpose in life after the first time. He's abit messed up now 🙁

My uncle went. When he got back to Mississippi, he had to wear a jacket in the summer, because it felt so cold to him.
