Seems awesome. Perfect whites without overcooking that yummy, oozy yolk. Silky eggs. It's like sunny side up but the basting/steam cooks the whites. You put some water in the pan after the whites start to set and the steam takes care of the tops of the whites. The texture of the yolk is similar to poached, not quite the same pillowy goodness but close.

I've sorta done em that way with fresh bacon grease myself he he.

Have a properly broke in cast iron skillet I cook bacon in myself while making hash browns a lot of the time, then turn the heat down put in the eggs and flip bacon grease over the top.

My poor heart some days.

:D

Also have a small Braun coffee grinder I've found really nice for fresh pepper, you can have a few containers around and buy a large peppercorn container and red peppers and mix various spices for rubs for ribs or just general usage very fast.

I don't even use it for coffee these days, it's become a spice grinder.

Explain? Like you baste them in oil openly spooning the oil over the egg.

I simply must try this. I've mastered every other way of the egg.

Yes, you cook them at a lower temp and spoon the oil over them as they cook. Have you made Scotch eggs? We used to have competitions in the kitchen to see how many layers we could put on an egg.

I use the same technique :) I use sour cream though because creme fraiche is hard to come by around here.
Same here actually, on the one ingredient.

Kraft cream cheese with chives is good, forgot that one.

old trick - put a small lid over an egg on the grill to help it steam the whites

I eat basted eggs every morning. Toss a few tbsp of water into the pan and cover. Probably one of the easiest ways too cook eggs.
