Anybody converted Fat32 to NTFS AFTER SETUP?

I have Win2k setup on a FAT32 partition. I want to convert it to NTFS. The Microsoft literature says to run convert.exe, but then you have to shut down and reboot because the program can't work on the active partition while it's running win2k. I understand all this, but am a bit scared I might trash my install. Has anyone done the conversion of FAT32 to NTFS in this way, after having set up Win2k on a FAT partition? Did you have any problems? Thanks.

Yes. After you run the convert.exe prog and convert the drive it will tell you to restart the pc for the changes to take place. I've done this on Windows 2000 and NT4 Service Pack 5.

I've also done this with a Gateway laptop that was ordered from Gateway w/ FAT32 that I got, setup a lot of software and then converted. Worked fine.
