Anybody buy clothing or shoes off Amazon?

I like being able to try on and feel clothing or shoes before buying. I see a lot of clothes and shoes being sold on Amazon, and despite having access to reviews I still prefer B&M stores when it comes to things I wear. Any reasons to buy clothing or shoes from Amazon?

I've bought both shoes and clothes from Amazon, but unless it's a brand and style that I know...I buy from B&M stores.
Too many hassles returning stuff bought on-line if it doesn't fit or look right.

I've bought both. It worked out pretty good. The only thing I returned was a pair of shoes and Amazon paid the return shipping.

The only clothing I've bought off Amazon were some bras for my wife. I can't really see myself touching and feeling the bras in a B&M. I just go off the reviews and buy her bust size. It works.:)

I'll buy sneakers online, mainly because I tend to just get the same style. And many places offer free return shipping, so it makes it much easier to find something acceptable, whereas a B&M store might have a hodgepodge of stuff or nothing I like.

Clothing, outside of relatively standardized things like t-shirts or a hoodie, is something I'll still buy in a store.

In a related anecdote, I hear that buying a suit online is the way to go these days.

Pretty much all my clothes and shoes come from Amazon. I'll get a couple different sizes to try and return what doesn't fit or look right. The UPS guy comes and picks it up. Couldn't be easier.

Yeah I agree with this. Pick some shoes you already know, and if you see them on Amazon at a discount, pick them up. I could see myself doing this with my New Balance 623s.

Scored a insanely good deal on a Columbia Ascender rain jacket from Amazon.

(the jacket retails for $130,I got it for a total of $60..$80 on sale plus a 25% off coupon code.)

All the time. Shirts are pretty much brands and model that I'm familiar with, so there's no need for fitting. For shoes I go to the stores to try them out, and if I find the one I like, I looked it up on Amazon. If Amazon is cheaper, I order it from Amazon.

If for some reason the stuff that was delivered doesn't work for you, return is super easy, too.

If it's something I tried in a store / have bought before and know it fits then absolutely otherwise no as I need to make sure it fits right for both, especially for shoes as I need wide shoes and some "wides" are crap.

But then again I get new normal shoes maybe once over 4-5 years so have not bothered with amazon for those yet as a few dollars more when I do go shopping for a new pair isn't anything.

I buy shoes from Amazon, it's not easy to find size 11 extra wide shoes at the local stores.

I will buy clothes online when there is free return shipping. It's actually quite easy to return clothes these days. When I buy stuff from Banana Republic for example, it comes in a plastic shipping bag with a pre-printed return label. The bag opens at the top with a perforated tear strip, and is designed to be re-sealed for return shipment, so you don't need to find packing tape, don't need to print a shipping label, etc, just re-seal and go. Sometimes UPS will even pick it up if you leave it on your front door.

Certain things, sure. Shoes from companies I usually buy shoes form (Puma, Sketchers etc) since the size is usually consistent. I've only purchased sweatshirts from Amazon though. Certain types of clothing I still like to be able to try on before I buy them.

I was restocking jeans and got distracted by price. Ordered some pants from Puff Daddy. I am big guy so I picked wide for fit. I got some 5x5 shorts that were hilarious. (Think Mike Smith) $24 and I saved them just to show folks. I wrote them and they offered exchange but too funny to return.

I've bought both somewhat regularly. I'm a little on the tall side and its almost impossible to find tall sizes in many/most B&M stores. I try to be as careful with my choices as I can - I hate packaging up stuff to return it.

Do you guys take advantage of Amazon's lenient return policy? They ship things to you but you can always change your mind and if you choose certain reasons (wrong item sent, wrong item description, item damaged), the return shipment is free. UPS will even come pick it up. I'm starting to feel guilty (just changed my mind twice and 1 time it was really an incorrect description), but they are an online-only presence so this shipping cost thing is part of running their business... do you guys take advantage?

I ask because I read of someone who was kicked off the program because of excessive returns or something similar.

Yep - both.

Sending back a pair of dress oxfords today, as they are too small. Hit and miss on sizing, until you find a consistent brand.

Never bought shoes, but I've bought a few workout clothes from Amazon. Mostly just t-shirts. As long as it doesn't say slim fit, I pretty much know they fit me.
