Recived a damaged item today, just curious what they are like to deal with. I'm waiting for a RMA. The toll free number is a dead end, they recommend using email.

I have had good luck with them so far. I got a computer system that was DOA. They gave me a RMA and had UPS pick the package up from my house. After they confirmed the DOA my CC was credited and it cost me nothing.

Yep, another vote against Ubid.com. They shipped me a DOA subwoofer which I didn't discover until it was out of warranty (90 days, gee thanks). Fortunately, the manufacturer (JBL) is awesome and agreed to replace it.

I wouldn't buy from Ubid again if they offered me a full system for $10.

The main reason I don't bid on ubid is the shipping.
IF anything damaged, you'll have to pay for shipping.

I've purchased the following items that came through just fine:

Diamond MX300
Altec Lansing Speakers 4.1
Honeywell Air Purifier
Lots of cigars

All small ticket items. Then I bought a 17" Mitsubishi Diamondscan and it was DOA. No hassle returning it. They were quite apologetic and expedited the matter to my satisfaction. Nevertheless, I'm a little leery of buying larger items at Ubid, but the small stuff seems fine. And, they paid for all the return shipping.

I got an RMA last week and UPS picked it up on Monday. According to UPS tracking, it still hasn't left the state. Also, I noticed while checking tracking, the ship to address is actually the pickup address. I hope this doesn't become a problem. I'm calling them on that on Monday for what it's worth.

I gotta admit I was somewhat disappointed in the senseless damage to my order. I got a refurbished 24" Sony GDM-900 for little over $1,000.00 with shipping. Paid extra for FedEx next day shipping. It came in a non factory box with a single 1 1/2" piece of foam rubber in the bottom. The monitor was shipped face down with the cable between the foam rubber and the screen. There were additional pieces of foam rubber packing on each of the 4 sides and one for the top. A small hole was slightly punched thru the bottom. Damage to the monitor consisted of a broken/crushed plastic bezel (easily replaced) in the upper right hand corner where the cable was. Also the anti-glare coating was slightly scratched. When the monitor was hooked up and fired off it had large rainbows radiating out of each top corner. Degausing did nothing to remedy the distorted coloring.

What a waste of a great monitor because of some ignorant halfass employee in Ubid's shipping dept. That baby weighed 92 lbs and was valued at $2,300.00 new and they put a single piece of foam rubber in the bottom of the box.

For any of you who haven't seen this monitor in person, don't look cuz it'll ruin ya for life! I'm now buying a brand new Sony 24" GDM-FW900 and I won't even flinch when I place the order. Before seeing this monster I honestly dunno if I could've parted with that much of my money for a single monitor.
