It's pretty hard. I made it to Regulator so far. You just have to memorize where the mercs are and always shoot first. The later levels are gunna be impossible with those special forces guys and the huge trigens :Q.

I did, but I had to cheat

When you get near the end with all of those massive trigens at the volcano, it is just insane. Way too hard.

I must have done that level 100 times. You can keep the jeep for only a short time, after that it becomes a liability, so try to run down some trigens and expend all your ammo before you take too much damage. Then just keep moving. Circle the trigen you are targetting and unload an entire shotgun mag into his head, that will do the trick, but don't take too long about it each time.

Maybe I'll have to reinstall it and give it a shot. I have not tried it on my new rig yet; should look pretty nice considering how good I thought it looked on my crappy old laptop.

Me too. I found most of the game pretty fun and challenging on realistic, but the end was just stupid.

i dont think i ever used quicksave/quickload playing on "hard"... man, that would have made things much easier :(

I got to the volcano level on veteran (the one before realistic). That level lags my PC too much for that difficulty setting, and until I upgrade I won't be bothering... but I don't think I'd bother on realistic, I like a challenge but at the end of the day it's just a game, and it can get too frustrating imo.

Yes, I beat it on the hardest difficulty level. No cheats, no quick save, just as the game was meant to be played.

If I remember right, on the last level if you stayed inside the bunker that leads to the volcano where all the jumpy guys are, you'd lose, but if you stepped outside the bunker and hid along the side of it, you could take out a jumpy guy at a time and it was much easier.

I'm pretty vague on the details as it was about a year or two since I even played FarCry, but I know its possible, as I've done it.

There was a few times it took hours to get past a certain part of a level you had to do it perfectly, and it wasn't easy. But thats the challenge and fun of it.

I retried so many times just to get past the army of elite guards with impenetrable shields neat the end of the game. And that's only on normal mode.

I beat it on the normal difficulty level (whatever the default is) and that was enough for me. Parts of that game made me want to tear my hair out...

I tried adding "\" in front of codes as well, but it says no such command

That's not cheating, that's called problem solving!

I beat FarCry on all levels twice.

Don't have it installed anymore, maybe I'll put it back on.

The intermediate levels seem more difficult than Realistic, because Realistic has fewer mercs (except they don't miss shooting at you, & it's hard to take them down with your shots).

By the time you're up to Realistic level you know where most everything is and the layout, & have practiced skill.

Headshots ftw. And whenever you have a choice, use boats/jeeps to the max.

I just reinstalled Far Cry last night and patched it to 1.4 on my new computer. This should be interesting. Though, I'm pretty rusty at that game now. I remember playing it when it first came out with my 2.4 ghz p4 and 9600xt. I beat it on normal initially but since then I used the cheat codes and just messed around. Having unlimited ammo on some of the big guns can be fun. :D
