I caught a bit of an old movie (60s?) on AMC where there's a dude who looks like Steve McQueen has some stolen cash and he's hiding out in a motel with a brunette. Then comes 6 dudes dressed like cowboys who go in shooting up the place looking for McQueen. McQueen has this shotgun and blows like 3 dudes to bits. Then finishes off 2 more dudes with a large caliber handgun.

Anybody know the name of the movie?
 
Dang, that scene was fricken' awesome. He was just wasting everyone in there. So much detail. I think it was Steve McQueen....could be Paul Newman cuz they kinda look alike.

I can't remember the title. but he was with Dustin Hoffman. They were prisoners in an isolated island and tried to escape.. Great movie..

Haha! A guy who looks like Steve McQueen and was hiding out in a motel with a brunette? That WAS Steve McQueen and the brunette was Ali McGraw who became his second wife.

And you don't know about the movie Papillon?

You guys must not watch old movies. Steve McQueen is the real deal and was rare in his time along with others like Lee Marvin and Robert Mitchum. If you want to watch a good movie with Steve McQueen, take a look at The Sand Pebbles or the Great Escape.
 
That chase scene in bullitt is classic.

How many hubcaps fell off that charger during that scene? Was it 5 or 6? lol.
 
Next to John Wayne, McQueen is the man. You know that McQueen did all his own stunt driving in Bullitt? Pretty sure he did his own driving in Le Mans too.

Oh yeah, and the movie in question is The Getaway and Ali McGraw is definitely looking very nice in it. (Too bad that was 30 years ago.)

Yes, that would be The Getaway. Steve McQueen was awesome because his characters were quietly cool badasses...he never went yelling through the streets about how he could kill everyone and their grandma yet all the people already knew it was so...

Definately two great movies. I put McQueen in the same category as James Dean; both were great actors and they had similar acting styles comparatively speaking.
 
Yeah, Steve McQueen is awesome. I just picked Bullitt on DVD for $15. His best movie is definetly The Great Escape though. Fun fact about that movie, one of his conditions for making it was that he got to show off his motorcycle skills, which makes for a great chase/action sequence.

Hey CplHicks, how about a video of that chase scene? The guy driving the charger is Bill Hickman... Hickman... Hicks... coincidence? I think not !

Hmmm.. maybe if Dean had lived to make some more movies. Dean was awesome in GIANT and had he lived probably would have gone on to make more great movies.
 
one of my all time faves was The Great Escape!!

Much better than those boring John Wayne films <waiting for the Red Dawn flame> 😉

The Blob, Magnificent Seven, Bullitt, The Great Escape, Towering Inferno... I got all those on tape still 🙂

Yep...Steve McQueen and James Coburn were good friends with Bruce Lee and they took private Kung Fu lessons from him.

LOL, I got to agree. RD I didn't know you were a John Wayne buff. I love watching anything by JW or Bogart or Hitchcock.

Well I'm not a John Wayne Buff, I just like his movies. Same with Bogart. Casablanca is one of my all time favorites.
