Any y'all got any good crockpot recipes?

seriously, I glanced this one really quick and I could have sworn it said "any y'all got any good cockroach recipes."

I shit you not.
😀

Huh?? You can make amazing pulled pork in a slow cooker.

Blasphemy.

Understand though that you are speaking to an NC native. BBQ is a religion, and this is a travesty in our world. Though I suppose it would be fair to call it pulled pork...in a way. actually calling it BBQ would be very wrong.

but in all honesty, pulled pork must come from a whole pig, slowly cooked over a fire pit or pig cooker, for ~1 day.

I've yet to see a pig-sized crock pot that allows coals or wood for burning.

While try BBQ is delicious, you have to realize we Northerners are lazy. 😀
Plus that's not very practical living in the city. Nor in the winter.

We make sacrifices to get a delicious (well, relatively tasty in comparison to true southern style) product year-round with much less effort, in locations that often provide difficulty in general for true preparation.

I used a crockpot for the first time 2 weeks ago and the baby back ribs came out amazing. I will have to cook them again.

I've lived in cities for a decade now, far enough away from my home state cuisine.

In such cases, I try to find a source that can do it properly, or I won't bother at all. A half-assed inferior substitute is no substitute at all in my book.

I know NY has a few places, in Manhattan even, that do smoke their meat. It's not that unusual to get real honest BBQ in a city setting. In your apartment though...that's different.

One could always try the Alton Brown flower pot slow-cooker.
