Hey guys

Just wanted to know if anyone knew of websites that explain the different chipsets like i815, BX, VIA, GeForce etc. Information like how they are contructed, what features do whatever, why one is better than another. I found a good site on the architecture of the P4 where it showed the 20 stage pipeline and what processes it did at each stage, how the processor moves through from the northbridge to the southbrige etc and it was all done through pictures. That was quite informative but I could find one for the AMD Thunderbird to compare it to.

I've tried tomshardware and all those Video card tweaking sites but they just link you back to the manufacturer's site like intel and it really doesn't tell you much. They just tell you the features but they don't tell you how the feature is achieve through what.

Is there anything I didn't mention? I hope I exlained it properly.
THanks in advance

the site you're on does chipset reviews, etc. if you read enough of them you'll get a good overview of how they work.

Thanks for the replies guys much appreciated, lots of info to sort through there.
The P4 link I can't remember where I read it from but I think I got it from 2cpu.com in one of the forums. I think the post was about how the P4 would stack up against a dual P3 733 @ 966mhz.

But after reading all the bad things about P4s and Rambus I pretty much forgot about that link.

thanks for the help :)
