I have been meaning to start looking for colleges, but the one thing that has stopped me is that I just dont know where to look. I've seen lots of sites that list colleges by overall greatness, but thats not what I want - I want to check which colleges are good for my major . Can anyone help out? 🙂

Communications Journalism.

I'm also interested in those game theory/design classes, but I question the usefulness of their content.

Chapman University in Orange, CA has a pretty good communications deparment. Its a small school (Division III Independend). My cousin just graduated from there.

Only a few school have communications journalism as a major. I point you to UC Berkeley.... I think NOrthwestern has one, same as Harvard... I don't know your grades, just pointing some places out.

Don't quote me on this one, by I THINK George Washington University has journalism as a major 🙂 (however I think it is geared towards politics, because it IS in D.C., but maybe you'd like that) Good Luck...

The University of Hawaii has a School of Communications that has both a journalism and a communication department. The departments are basically integrated, and have the same department chair, media lab, etc.

As far as I know, Berkeley doesn't have one. The closest they have is Mass Communications, which is described as learning the "history" of the media and such, as opposed to actually doing media stuff yourself.

i'd suggest if you apply to berkeley, apply undeclared if you want to be in mass comm. when i tried to apply i was denied admission, and a big part of it was most likely because i tried to declare that major.

that and mass comm at berkeley is the athlete major. be aware.
