Any webpages you visit that you think are poorly designed?

Anything with flash, so a bunch of music/band sites. Flash is great for ass-kissing your first time through, but when you actually want info, it's annoying.

Any site that's written entirely in Flash, Shockwave, Silverlight, or some other crap. I have yet to see a site written with those languages that's actually good. Partially the fault of the developer though, not necessarily the language itself.

I get annoyed with Wire's website, especially when it gets rendered on my Blackberry. I would think by the very nature of their magazine that they would have a bit mobile friendly website.

I think it's the fault of the language for attracting the type of developer that thinks the language can do cool things. Flash is what idiots graduated to when they got bored with <BLINK> and <MARQUEE> tags.

Most of you probably don't remember it, but in the early days of instant messengers ICQ was the big thing. Their site tried to be one of those all-purpose portals that contained every bit of info any and every human could possibly want all jumbled together with absolutely no cohesion or attention to white space. It remains the worst website I have ever seen.

HardForum is ugly as sin. I won't visit there because of it and because the main dude there is a raging douchebag.

Pretty much. Hogs resources, eliminates pretty much any possibility for any SEO, generally looks bad.

The intranet page of the client I contract for. Can't post it obviously, but man it's brutal. Imagine some frontpage designed page by some 12 year old kid with zero knowledge of html. Add broken picture/links to that, then add links that start with C:\ or G:\ (G being a departmental shared drive, not everybody has access to everything).

That's what happens when they have weird crappy politics in place that disallow IT of touching any type of code. Instead they are paying something like 30k to have some company to make them a new one, which will end up looking like crap when they start modifying it with front page again.

Not the case with Silverlight. Everything is stored in plain text and fully indexable. Most modern search engines also index most Flash text content.
