Any weapons by your bed?

I have a Beretta U22 Neos .22 pistol under the bed. It's not really intended for protection, but can work well if need be. It's unloaded in the case, but I have a loaded clip handy.

Well you don't exactly need to stop and check, I mean, you can tell when you've knocked him down. One in the head should do it. Why keep swinging after that? Either way I think you would not be charged.

I am not swinging to knock him down. I am assuming that neither the intruder nor I have had the time or inclination to turn on the light and I am assuming that I have no idea whether the intruder has a weapon. I am also probably half-asleep.

I am swinging for the fences, early and often.

Well it's true, and if you know the history of weapons and firearms, you would know that the sword was invented for 1 reason and 1 reason only. To kill other people in combat, Atheus claims that he will best someone with a firearm with his katana (most likely a cheap piece of crap from ebay that is made from cheap steel and not full tang).</end quote></div>

Actually I got it from Singapore, of all places - it's one of those mass produced WWII ones which had somehow found it's way there from Japan.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>So who really is the more dangerous person?</end quote></div>

Look I have nothing against keeping one weapon, gun or sword, so long as it's secure and so long as you don't carry the damn thing round on the street. It's these people with huge arsenals who seem to think they are a one man army against the world - they're the ones that disturb me.

I am not a one-man army against the world, I am a member of an 80,000,000 person army against anyone who would take our rights away.

Be disturbed all you want though, I am going to continue to carry a firearm on my person every single day, even at work. I do it, because I have and value my freedom.

Hahahahaha, so having 80 rifles at home is more dangerous then having 1? Hello, the person with 80 is a collector, and not a criminal. The person on the street illegaly carrying a Lorcin with a mexican style holster is who disturbs me. And now I'll chuckle inside because you have no idea what the hell I'm talking about.

Right because those are mutually exclusive. People who are obsessed with weapons disturb me.

I collect firearms because I enjoy shooting and their history. I even have about 8 Enfields in my collection (send me any more you find over there please). As a federally licensed collector, I am subject to more stringent regulation than normal gun owners.

Same here. I am big into FFA stuff (full auto, suppressors, SBR's), and I the hoops I have to go through are ridiculous. The government should have absolutely zero say in what weapons I can freely buy.

I don't have 80 in my collection...yet. But I live by my rule to buy a new gun every sixty days, so far it is going along as planned. Last year I was able to get me an M16 lower receiver though, that is my baby right now. I keep a 9.5" short-barreled upper on it, to make it doubly evil. 😀

So far it has not gone on a rampage all by itself and killed anyone.

I would have done a couple SBRs here but IL law doesn't allow it unless you have an 01 FFL.

Ironically, I think my collection is right around 80 now. 😀

You see that's what I'm talking about - you have a licence, you seem a sensible guy, you're not being offensive, you don't have this:

"Be professional, be polite - but have a plan to kill everyone you meet."

in your signature, etc. You do not disturb me. adairusmc does.

Why does being prepared to defend yourself from anyone disturb you?

That is from the Marine Corps Rules of Engagement. Get over it.

Absolutely. You never know if you are going to meet a serial killer, phycho, liberal, or some one else who may wish to take what I have or do me harm.

Nothing. I live in Canada, on the 38th floor, in a relatively affluent neighbourhood. I wouldn;t even know where to go to buy a gun. 😕

Liberal? As in one who advocates liberty? You wish to kill such people?

I totally believed you :Q

Liberty:

- freedom from arbitrary or despotic government or control

Liberal:

- (also noun) (especially with capital) in politics, (a person belonging to a party) favouring liberty for the individual

Hi deerslayer,
what's up with the ball ammunition? Most people keep a mid penetration hollow point to help with shoot-through in urban settings and for more stopping power. Do you live in a rural area?

Then how come they try and take liberties away every single chance they get?

Yeah, boobie traps are actually illegal.

Big fat crowd-sized can of pepper spray.
I can grab it with one hand while laying back in bed.

If I ever feel the need to keep a gun by my bed I would probably just move instead.
I'm a rotten shot and probably wouldnt do well in the dark and groggy.
