Any weapons by your bed?

2 mastiffs and a machete. The machete just happens to be laying there by my bed on the lower shelf of my nightstand, I don't have it there for protection, necessarily. The mastiffs, my male especially, are probably enough to make most burglars move on. I don't have anything nice enough that it would be worth trying to get past them.

Bearly 5'2". I have a can of mace by my bed. Funny to note. I went to NC recently. I have a very discreet pen mace. It went through security, and back. They didn't bat an eye lash at it. Hah.

I have my Tec 9 practically within reach. Not ideal but it'll have to suffice for now. Laser sight helps.

Laser sight during a middle-of-the-night home invasion? Your house is going to look like a Pink Floyd concert.

I have two swords within arm's reach of my bed, a Tai Chi style and a Katana style. I don't want to start shooting a shotgun at an intruder in an apartment.

Baseball bat and pepper spray.</end quote></div>

He said weapons, not sex toys.

😱

So just out of curiosity how many people have actually been in situations where these weapons would have helped?

Or even personally know someone who they would have helped?

With kids around I would be very reluctant to keep a loaded firearm anywhere in the open.

Ive always wanted to booby trap a 12 gauge to the front and back doors. However i dont think the cops would approve.</end quote></div>

Yeah, boobie traps are actually illegal.

Oh no! What will I do with the paint cans hanging over my stairwell, then?

No real weapons here, but I do have a Galileo thermometer on my dresser, and I bet a swift hit to the face with the three-hole punch on my desk would cause some damage.

Winchester Defender 12ga loaded with OO buckshot about two feet from my bed.

I thought Chicago had ban on handguns...

It does, they aren't here. I used to live downstate.
