Any way to zip a file using a batch?

I've been learning to do batch files. I would like to be able to zip files with a batch. I have XP, with its built in compression thing, but I generally use WinZip, the eval version. I saw on a website that there is a command line download for WinZip that only works for registered versions.

Does XP have a command line for its zipper?

You could use PKZip, the original DOS based zip program.

Or arj, another easy to use command line compression utility. arj was the most used compression program on MSDOS at a time (1995-something)

I use winrar via command-line executing all the time, very full-featured.
