Any way to tell 100% if something has been photoshopped?

I thought there was something in the header you could view that would say if it has been opened in photoshop or edited or something... i'm trying to prove that this picture is a load of crap. I have my suspicions about the lighting and "hard lines" around the fish as well as the way he's holding the fish (if he were holding it by the gills the mouth would be open)

also right by the motor you can see what looks like the end of the tail of the REAL fish he was holding

any way to "prove" this picture a fake?

well that's definitely photchopped, but i don't know of anyway to prove it, especially since you're just gonna right click/save as. the new file created on your computer is going to have different attributes than the 'original' file.

i obviously know it's photoshopped, however the less technically inclined people on a fishing forum are looking for hard proof of it, something that isn't "i've seen a lot of photoshopped pics and this is one"

The fish just looks way out of proportion...that alone should be a telltale sign. A fish that size just wouldn't look like that.

Yeah, the fish just looks like it's floating on the rest of the picture.

Well, you'd have a hard time convincing me that the guy is holding the gill on the other side of the fish. It looks like it should be hanging.

Edit: Plus the guy wouldn't be standing straight up like that. That's a heavy fish- I don't think he'd be able to handle it in that position.

And of course it's clearly a photochop, but I think even people who've never seen photochops would agree with the points I've mentioned above.

ok, well how's this: the picture looks extremely dark, so it's fairly obvious that the picture was taken at night. therefore the lighting in the picture is provided primarily by the flash. now, look at the concentrated 'spot' on the boat engine - that's a reflection of the flash. if you were to draw an imaginary line from that point to where the camera is, it would cut right through the fish which doesn't make sense. also, with such a strong light and dark environment, you would actually see a shadow of the fish, with parts of that shadow being projected onto the 'fisherman.'

lighting looks WAYYYYY off. just look at the resolution differences between the fish and the guy. lighting is completely off, the shadows and everything. no shadows, looks plastered on, lol.

Just point them to this thread.

You could possibly look around a little and try to find the original picture of that fish. (I know it's a longshot)

Even if someone took a pic like that for real, they'd usually throw it into Photoshop and either resize/compress it for the web... so it may have photoshop "headers" without the pic being modified in any other way.

With that said, I think you should just leave the fishing forum members with their opinions... this battle is hardly worth it.
