like title says.... i hate how when i login i have to be set to "online" for a sec so everyone gets notified... i'd honestly rather have the option to login with out anyone knowing.. i've seen it before on groups, but never with an an answer...

anyone know anything??

What's the point? If you don't want to talk to people don't log on, or just leave it up all the time showing your status as away.

Why don't you just make a new name up and use it to check before you sign on with your real one?

what if you just want to talk to one person and don't want to get messages from anyone else? it's frigging annoying when you go on and several ppl try to chat with you.

But if you "appear offline" you can't initiate any converstations with contacts... I always found this the weak side of MSN. ICQ you could be invisible to selected individuals and such... unless I'm missing something here.
