it will take a bit of work, but it is possible.

check this website out.

you'll have to make a new windows install cd, and it will have all your drivers and even SP1 on it pre-loaded.

hope this helps.

For me, that's one of the big reasons to format: start from scratch with the latest drivers.

Check out WinDrivers Backup
It may be just what you need.

"WinDriversBackup can identify all of your Windows driver files and save them to a secure location in two simple mouse clicks.

Backing up your Windows driver files means they will be available to you the next time you need to reinstall the driver or the whole operating system. WinDriversBackup places the driver files in one organized location of your choosing."

Reformatting seems pointless if you're going to save your driver install and then apply it at soon as you're up and running again. The whole point of reformatting is so you can start on a clean slate.

But if all your drivers are up to date, what's the diff? You get a new clean install with the latest drivers. All this does is save the .inf files in one place.

the point of reformatting for me is to get all this worthless junk off my HDD and to make my comp run faster...plus it wont be all fragged up

for me...thats starting with a clean state

and also--- id install all new drivers i only wanted to back them up just incase i couldnt find 1 and then id be kicking myself in the B-hind

so do not fret

anything else i should no or do?

just format I say...

You will always forget something no matter how much time you spend, so just do it, hehe.

At least, that's my philosophy.

Just in case:

Email
Saved Games
Favorites
Mp3s
Drivers
Patches
Download programs
and more of course.

1.)Back up your address book, and saved mail.

2.)Go to the modem, DSL, cable settings and print out the configuration settings for connections and mail and newsgroups along with writing out all your passwords.

Use Printkey 2000 v.5.10 if it will work on your system. It is free and bug free. The later Printkey's cost money.
