Any way to rip movie clips from DVDs?

My brother and a group of his friends are trying to do a presentation for his class about how The Matrix parallels with the Bible, and they want to know if there's any way to rip movie clips from the DVD and put into his Powerpoint presentation.

Any thoughts?

How'd I know someone would bring that up? Seriously, if I wanted to copy a whole DVD I easily know how to do that. What I'm talking about is a few clips, needed only for a presentation.

I think you can rip individual DVD chapters, and then make even smaller clips in a video editing program. Try here.

I think screncam will probably do it, but can't say I've tried. Another thing to try would be analog with tv out..

get the FlaskMPG Rip Pack from www.doom9.net, you have to decrypt the VOB file with the chapter, convert it to AVI or DiVX using FlaskMPG, then slice it up using the slicing program on that site...it take a long time....
