Do they happen during REM sleep? I seem to be having some intense ones lately and keep waking up. I think it's the dreams that's waking me up. What's worse is some are about work. My job really isn't even stressful so I'm not sure why I'm dreaming about it.

You probably dream about it because you go to it so often...

I have dreams about college quite often. :|

Ummm prevent yourself from going into REM... The cycles are relatively stand though, so just time an alarm... Some sleep aids also have been known to prevent it as well.

I wish my dreams were more intense. A lot of the time I go to sleep with snus in my mouth, for the lucid nicotine dreams.

You can sleep forever and you won't dream at all. :p

Certain classes of antidepressants suppress REM.

Avoid caffeine consumption a full six hours (or more) before bed.

There are a number of foods that are associated with having weird/scary/vivid dreams.

I've had dreams about people trying to break into my house every night for a week straight.

What's weird is I almost never have dreams.

Dreaming about your job? That really has to suck. I dream about battling with dinosaurs and flying. If I couldn't do sweet stuff in my dreams I'd probably kill myself.

First of all what is your job?

Alcohol inhibits REM sleeping so make sure you drink plenty of alcohol every few hours throughout the night.
