Any way to ping an external site through a proxy server?

I am trying to ping a site from work using Windows NT 4.0. I can only seem to ping internal sites.

Is there a way to ping/tracert sites external to the proxy?

You could give a shot at using web-based tools (although they won't reflect your connection from your proxy server. Try tracert.com for starters.
