Any way to merge 2 SETI accounts?

Domination

I just realized that I have 209 WUs from when I was running SETI on my work PC last year.

They are under a different email address than my current account is. Can these 2 accounts be merged?

I know 209 is not all that many, but I'd hate to lose the credit for them.

BTW, tomorrow when I get to the office, I'll sign that account up with the TeAm.

This has been asked many times and the sad answer is NO.

[Edit] Wait a minute. Do you have the SETI EMAIL ADDRESS and SETI PASSWORD to both accounts?

Hmmm, that is not the usual case. Most of the time people have had their old ISP Account either cancelled or the ISP has gone out of business and they don't remember their SETI PASSWORD.

This is one of the first times I can remember someone having everything they need. Why don't you go to the one you would like to change over and see if they will let you change that email address to the one you prefer.

/OH, I just remembered why this can't be done. Although Seti@Home allows many users to have the same SETI NAME, they do not allow anyone to attempt to use a SETI EMAIL ADDRESS already signed up. Go ahead and give it a try but I bet they will not allow you to change the old account to the email address of the new account.

Which one has the most WUs? You only have 19 with the one you just joined Team AnandTech with. If I was you I'd join the other account up with Team AnandTech and use it for my primary account. Just let the current 19 reside where they are for future use if ever necessary. You'd have to delete the current installation and start over using the older email address in the fresh setup. (Did I mix you up with this?)

The one with 209 has the most, but I don't use it anymore... I had it running at work and was using my work email addr. Since I was on vacation when I signed up the new account I didn't have access to my work email and couldn't retrieve my old password.

I guess I'll just sign over the WUs to the TeAm and let it sleep like it has for the past year 🙂 Not a big deal.

That does sound like the best decision under the circumstances. 😉

I've changed my e-mail address and even my user name on my account with no problem, but never tried merging 2 accounts!
