Any way to make XP not show Zip Files in the Folder list?

When I use Windows Explorer ad view the folders on the left and the files on the right, Windows XP puts Zip files on the left with the folders so I can click them and view the files they contain on the right.

Is there any way to make it NOT do this? My folder list is huge because it shows me all the zip files and I don't want to see them there.

Thanks.

All of the answers I've seen for disabling the ZIP functionality revolve around unregistering zipfldr.dll but I haven't been successful as yet. Googling that DLL name should give you some hits. I'm not sure it's possible to stop the files appearing in the folder list though.
