Any way to make a serial connection wireless?

I have the WX200 Weather Station and it connects to the computer via serial cable. But I don't like the fact that theres no electrical protection. And I would like to be able to have the weather station whereever- not neccesarily right next to the computer. If not do they make surge protection for serial cables?

I believe my APC UPS at home has a serial pass through. You might want to check one out.

There is a new standard coming to the computer industry called Bluetooth that enables supported peripherals to communicate wireless.

Thanks I'll definatly look into that Bluetooth stuff....I just hope they'll make it available for standard serial connections...
