Any way to install Mandrake from the ISO files over the network?

This is a place where people's ideologies come to clash.. now, if you don't want to debate the merits of linux over windows, you're gonna have to ask in another forum.
Oh yeah, I've also noticed that the general "techability" in OT is very limited.


You need to find network.img .. boot disk, should be on the mirror, I haven't done it in a while so I could be wrong.

Anyways I just want to install it so I can play around with it and try and learn something different...

Try reading this, but you might want to scroll down to the part for a network install.

Basically you need to create a boot floppy out of the network.img file from this site using one of the rawrites from .here.

That happens when someone posts something worthy of such a debate. You posting this comment doesn't exactly keep things oriented on the topic at hand, whereas if you hadn't, thing would have likely stayed on topic.

Agreed, but I would change the "very" to "extremely".

Hmm..reminds me of the good ol' days when I used to do a network install for Mandrake in school ..even tried once for Suse.
Make sure you choose a good mirror.

Indeed, and the whole thing is capped off with a RTFM. I think I've seen worse OT threads than that though.
