any way to increase size of my boot drive?

i have a system that i just upgraded to xp pro. it has a 2gb boot disk (c: ) with xp pro that is already nearly full. there is another 35gb or so on the same hard drive that is currently unallocated (what was formerly two other partitions) and i'm wondering if i can somehow add some or all of this extra space to the c drive. is this possible? thanks.

Partition Magic is what you need. It will allow you to move free space and allocate it to the c: drive or even delete the second partition all without losing data.

What the above two posters said. Partition Magic is the way to go.

However, you say you did an upgrade to XP Pro. If you did the upgrade from Windows 98 you might want to consider backing up your data and installing from scratch. You may end up with some troubles down the road going from 9x to XP. As it is, you already have likely lost some performance that XP offers if you did perform such an upgrade.

sounds like partition magic is a good option.

if i decide to start all over from scratch what's the easiest way to go about deleting and reformatting the drive and installing xp on a fresh hard drive? do i just need a boot floppy with cd drivers?

Boot to the XP CD. It has everything you need to format/partition your drive(s).

thanks woodie1...booting to the xp disk let me do it. before i was unable to delete the final partition for some reason.
