Any way to get a MMC card to be read in an SD card slot?

I have an MMC (Multimedia Card) that I want to read on my laptop. However, my laptop only has an SD card reader (it's the same type of interface). Is there any way to read the MMC card with an SD card reader?

i think not. same with my laptop.

if you look on the cards. i dont remember which but 1 card has 1 extra metal tab. near the slant. I think thats the is either needed or not needed to trigger it.

I think the SD have the metal tabs, its wierd. my laptop takes just my SD. my phone only takes just the MMC and my camera takes both. so either way i cant upload any phones thru that on my laptop.

I have no problems reading my cell phone's MMC card in my printer's SD slot. Like Varun said, most SD readers are backwards compatible with MMC, but there's always the chance the laptop one you have may be made for SD only. Have you tried putting the card in and seeing if it'll mount? You're not going to hurt anything by trying (as long as you don't force it to fit, that is).

I think your printer's slot supports both SD and MMC cards.

There are various adapters available to read many of those cards, especially now that the 25 in 1 are available. Some of the smaller form factor cards will need another adapter though.
