Seriously, the stock one sucks.

There is no number row on the top (my passwords consist of alternating numbers and letters) and the fricking single quote key for uses like your's and you're are in a seperate screen! And where's the arrow keys for going back to a typo or insertion? I've got to hold down my finger and wait for the magnifying glass to pop up to go to the point I want, which could just be two letters down.

well thats why i use periods and commas. thank goodness there's period and comma on my HTC_IME keyboard on the same page :D

I don't use any punctuation...my phone does it for me.

And really....APOSTROPHE. Is that so hard?

I have a similar complaint. And my complaint is around passwords too - although in general I just don't like the iPad on screen keyboard. I knew I wouldn't like it no matter what - it's an onscreen keyboard - but I'm starting to loathe it. I make a lot of mistakes on it and I am not at all fast at typing on it. I don't like the number keys or punctuation locations... I've only had it for about 48 hours and already my primary gripe is the keyboard. I'll need to get a USB (using the camera kit) or Bluetooth keyboard for it to do any real writing.

I have in the past. Passwords requiring a symbol that also require to be changed fairly frequently that also store password history...

....rgh, don't get me started.

To answer the OP's question - I don't think you can change it right now, but I'm fairly certain that's a feature in OS v4. So you'll be able to do it some day.

i'll never get a soft keyboard device expecting to do anything more than one or two liners or small searches.
