Any way to force Win2K/WinXP to see only 1 processor?

Hello,

I have 2 systems w/ dual processors in them. I have some software to install on it for work and i get a message that says this software is only compatible w/ 1 processor. If i was to install another hard drive, is there any way i can force Windows 2K or WinXP to only use 1 processor (and not see the other one) so that i may be able to install this software?!?!?!?!

Thank you!

I don't know about XP (as I've never used a dual processor system in XP) but in Windows 2000 you just go into the Device Manager, and under Computer, change whatever you have there to a single processor. Mine (XP) currently says "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC" -- yours will probably mention something about Dual Processing.

Visit this link -- it gives information for adding multi-processor support to Windows 2000, what you're doing is simply the reverse.
