Any way to find out new ip address after ISP changes it?

Like most people I get a dynamically assigned IP address from the ISP. It's usually good for about a week or two. Once it changes I can longer connect to my home computer at work via remote desktop because I don't know the new IP address. Is there any type of service or program that can monitor the status of my IP address and notify me of any changes?

Look into dynamic DNS services such as http://www.dyndns.org -- this will let you address your computer using a name instead of an IP.

Also check your router config if you have access as some have the setting in them so you don't have to run the updater service on your PC
