Any way to extract music from videos (mpeg)?

Most mpegs have separate mp3 files right? At least, when I encode XviDs, it makes an mp3 file and lets me choose the encoding options for the mp3.

I want to extract the music from the Radiohead Glastonbury concert that was floating around Off Topic. Can it be done?

Yes, it can. Get TMPGEnc, go to File->MPEG Tools, "Multiplex" tab. Doubleclick the audio track and save it as an mp2. (mp2, not mp3) That can be converted to mp3 fairly easily.

Hmm... okay there's a slight problem. The audio from the first video doesn't extract completely. 10 MB of the mp2 file are missing (it's still glastonbury). Any idea what could be wrong? The audio works fine on the video. When the extraction updates the progress, at 50%, the displayed file size is 50% of what the file should be (with the extra 10 MB). But at about 80% or so it just stops and the file is smaller than it should be.

Any ideas?

Any decent video editor should be able to dump the audio to a file. What version of MPEG are these files?
