Specifically here's what I want to do. I'm looking for a laptop in the Hot Deals forum. But some peopel cal them laptops, some peopel call them notebooks. So I want to do a search for Laptop OR Notebook. But, it doesn't work. Is there any way to do this?

Also if I want to find something that has two certain words in the title but not necessarily next to each other, doing a search for xxxxx AND yyyyy also doesn't work.

It'd seem this is a pretty basic search feature and Fuestalk has been around for such a long time you'd think searching would work a bit better.

Thanks.

Fusetalk has done boolean searching since its inception, its just a subscriber only feature. If you search a bit you'll find plenty of discussion on the fulltext feature as it relates to subscribers..

So fusetalk works "properly" as it always has.......

Basically, what Zuni is saying is that if you are a subscriber, you can do a Boolean search, if not you're out of luck. Fusetalk is not at fault.

So in order for people to not do as many reposts because they can't find the info they are looking for, everyone would have to subscribe?! I guess that explains why certain boards are so spammy.

But you can no longer subscribe here. They are supposed to implement new features which will include full-text searching once they finish the Forums upgrade.

(Thanks Danny Boy for the correct info.. :D)

If people paid attention to Zuni's post's, they would know certain Subscriber features including Full Text Search & Increased PM Limit, will be implemented well before the last subscription runs out.

I was just about to post about this since I'm looking for some specific items in FS/FT and unless people list every item that they have for sale in their thread title, search is USELESS!!! :|

Well that sucks! A "Tech" forum where you can't even search for this AND that. No wonder Google rules the world!
