any way to disable windows automatic driver installs?

i want to install cats 3.5 for my radeon 9500 pro but windows installs some other driver before i have a chance and now when i did install it shows up as 2 video cards in the device manager... stupid windows :|

Try to disable PnP services and reboot.

The 2 devices is normal with dual head ATI cards, try disconnecting your net connection after you reboot so that windows doesn't look for the drivers online maybe? You can also install the driver from device manager by pointing to the folder containing the *.inf file for the Cat 3.5 drivers.
