Any way to determine quality of a wireless link?

A few days ago, I came home from work and my wireless router began performing poorly over all wireless links. We have a couple of laptops and two cell phones which have built in wireless. The router we have is the Actiontec router Verizon gives with its service. It's been good up until the other day when it began either not transferring data (Windows connects / authenticates with the my network's ssid) or transferring very sporadically making it impossible to browse a site.

My pings to the router's internal IP result in about 50% p/l and the latency ranges from 600ms down to 1-2ms, but again, it's very sporadic.

I've tried changing wireless channels with no luck. Are there any available programs which might be able to tell me if I'm encountering any interference or if there are any "clear" channels which I could have better luck with? This is pretty frustrating, no changes have been made to the router's config and the quality has completely dropped. Any ideas?

Hmm, it says my device is not supported / no adapters found...

I guess it doesn't work with Vista, that might be my problem. However, I found a link to Inssider, I might give that a shot.
