people have a big thing agianst being vegeterian because in the US there arent really many good tasting vegetarian choices...most people think vegetarian and think boiled brocolli. But indian vegetarian food is delicious and I see no problem with eating that...but i could see how american cuisine is lacking in vegetarian choices.
 
I love my food, being vegetarian does not mean you need to eat fried cardboard.

There's substitutes for practically everything now.
 
i was born and raised a veggie.

i have gone thru all the various stages from lacto ovo (currently lacto ovo) to veganism (only for about 2 yrs).

biggest thing you should be careful of as a vegetarion is to not increase your carb intake. meat is more filling than veggies because humans have a lower tolerance level for heavy fat foods than they do for carbs.

watch the weight.
