Okay here's the deal, my car got broken into last friday.
They got my cd player, amp, 2 12" subs in box(thing was heavy and bolted too) and like 120 cd's.
Now the only thing that I can find a receipt for is the CD player since I got it last august.
The Amp and subs are at least a year and a half old. I can't find the receipt's for them.
Does anyone know if they do replace your stuff even if you can't provide proof of ownership?
What's bad is I don't even have pictures of my system...I think I'm out of luck on this one.
Any stories/comments/ suggestions?
This is my first ever auto claim so I think I'm handlling it fairly well, it's just to the paperwork part of it now.

EDIT------------guess I need to add more info
I have filed a claim/police report both on the morning of the incident.
I received papers today asking for receipts etc...
If I don't have those they are asking me to provide the name of the store and the dates that I bought the merchandise.
I just am wondering if I am totally out of luck on the stuff I don't have any receipts for...

My experience with a USAA claim was superb! Of course that was 20 years ago but the reputation is still there. Just report it to them and see what they need you to do. I bet if you can show the claim adjuster where the stuff was and he can see that indeed something was there and removed you won't have much of a problem. As far as the CD's go, I had some stolen once and provided the adjuster with an alphabetized listing of all my CD's and he paid me for all of them. Give them a call and see what they say but in my experience they really are a stand up insurance company.

I use USAA. While all the claims I filed were taken care of, I have found that it takes a lot of follow-up (i.e., phone calls) to get your claim handled properly.

Bear in mind that San Antonio, USAA's HQ, has been inundated with biblical amounts of rain over at least the last week. Houses are floating off their foundations - so the claims reps are more concerned with their own issues at the moment.
