Any UCLA peeps see those crazy pics on campus today?

behind Boelter were anit-abortion people with huge signs, about 25 feet tall, with 10 feet tall pics of aborted fetus', about 15 of them...not what i like looking at going from the library to the cafeteria

Just think of it as truth in advertising.

lol, jimbo. since when has there ever been a 10 feet tall fetus?
Good point! 🙂
They should have had real ones on display. :Q

just about any medical procedure is ugly... i can barely watch a facelift without being disgusted.

anyways, i'm not at ucla, but they've been to my campus too. imo, they're fighting a lost cause. they should just advocate birth control and emergency contraception so that people don't need to get abortions.

good call, seeing as they'll shoot ya 😛

i stay away from all activists though. if you really take a hard look, they're really all suffering from the same illness, but have different ways of expressing it. they're all nuts.

I think that the whole abortion thing is handled wrong by both sides.
If you want to kill your own offspring, fine. But, you should have to do it yourself, immediately after birth (or within 12 hours). Just hand the mother a ceremonial silver mallet and she just bashes the baby?s head in.

Hey, it's choice thing , right?

what would be the point of doing it that way?

It points out the difference between murder and a "surgical proceedure".
But if you really want to kill babies, I'm not going to stop you.

Lets keep this on topic. The thread isn't about the morality of abortion, its about the public viewing of those graphic images.

As far as i can tell, this website is the organization behind the UCLA protest. I might be wrong, but regardless, you can have a better idea of what kind of images we are talking about.

I don't think its appropriate for children to ever see images like this and if they do, then it should only occur with the consent of the child's parent(s). Public viewing of these images will inevitedly expose children to these graphic images.

the difference between just about any surgical procedure and torture is small as well, if you want to view it that way.

anyways, that really has to do with whether or not you view a fetus as a human or not. people go around and around on that topic. it's useless, imo. instead, why can't we all advocate birth control and emergency contraception? everybody wins, right?

I'll go one better. All women get Norplant (in absence of reliable male contraception) at age 14. It does not come out until you meet income and parental worthiness criteria.

fyi, while it woudl probably never go over as a public institution, there are private organizations that pay drug addicts to go on birth control 🙂

Why should you (or the gov't) decide who should and who shouldn't have kids? It's that big government streching its hand out? And if it is, doesn't that contradict one of the strongest views the republicans have(limited govt)? (which I thought you were Jimbo, pls. correct me if I am wrong)
