any tungsten carbide ring wearers?

So, I've decided to go the tungsten carbide ring route for my wedding band and am wondering about the ones with carbon fiber inlays or black coating. They get good reviews on amazon, but in wondering how well they hold up over the years. Does anyone here have or know someone who has an embellished tungsten carbide ring? Is the color r staying on? Are the ridges getting filled with miscellaneous crud? Is the carbon fiber falling out?

Mine is made of tungsten carbide. TC850. I've only had it for 9 months but so far its holding up as I would expect it to.

I wouldn't buy a wedding band off Amazon though. Go try it on. You're going to wear it for the rest of your life, or at least a few weeks.

My ex bought me one a long time ago. I wore it for about 2 years. Went through a ton of abuse at the gym and it still looks good.

I abuse the fuck out of my 8 year old ring and still looks new. I've never has a ring that could take a beating like this one.

I bought a tungsten carbide ring from Amazon for $20. I've had it for a little over 6 months and it still looks as shiny as when I first got it.

I have one with carbon fibre inlay that is about one year old. The tungsten part is basically indestructible of course. The inlay is perfectly flush with the tungsten surface and isn't separating or anything, but it is susceptible to scratching.

If I were buying again I'd just get a plain tungsten ring with no inlay.

This is why I want a WC ring. Nothing can beat the durability of this metal. Only a diamond can scratch it. I dont like rings because I work with my hands alot and after a few months, gold etc... rings get all scratched up and then need to be buffed and polished. WC maintains its finish.

The great part about tungsten is that if you lose some weight and lose a ring while waving at someone while going down an inner tube slope, it's only $30 to get a replacement on amazon.

My original ring wasn't offered any more, so I got something similar for the same price.

My ring is 2 years old, no scratches. Last one was 1 year old when I lost it. But my only embellishment is a brushed surface.

Mine's naked tungsten-carbide with a laser-etched celtic-knot pattern encircling. After almost 5 years the pattern is so worn as to be indistinguishable unless 6 inches away. I think I will avoid laser-etching in the future.

Unfortunately I can no longer slide it off my finger so I'm stuck with it. I tried (cautiously) bashing it with a hammer because I hear some are brittle, but the hammer didn't even chip/dent it. My hand was on a concrete driveway at the time.

Only about a year and a half and it looks great, but there is wood in the middle, so there is not a tonne of actually exposed metal.

You need a set of vise grip locking pliers to remove a WC ring; biggest you can find for most amount of torque leverage.

First, adjust the pliers so when you close them, they will lock down tightly on the ring. Now open them and tighten them by one screw turn. Grip down on the ring again and lock them. That should break the ring. WC for all of its hardness is brittle and will shatter. Wear safety goggles as pieces of metal may fly

Damn. Didn't realize that those things were so inexpensive, as well as being nearly indestructible. You could lose a couple, replace them, and your wife would never notice.
