I bought my x800xt brandnew off of ebay, but now I need to RMA it back to sapphire as it was found to be defective, will this cause any trouble with the process? They ask where i bought it from.

It shouldnt matter where you bought it from, its a new video card. And if they ask, just say it was a gift or something.

Well they asked where I bought it from and I already gave a spiel on how I spent all my money on this card blah blah blah, cause thats what you have to do to get anywhere with customer service people.

they could . . . . there is a lot of fine print:

(eg) did you know that your warranty is valid ONLY "if the online Product Warranty Registration form . . . . is successfully submitted within 30 days of purchase"?

blah blah blah. . . .

"authorized dealer" . . . . more fine print . . . .
:shocked:

let us know what happens

(good luck)
