I rather not subscribe to any service. Anyone know of a way to get that elusive FICO number without paying anything ? Thanks !!

Impossible to get a real free FICO. Trademarked by Fair Isaac, if you ain't getting it from myfico it's a fako

If it doesn't say FICO specifically, which these don't, chances are very good its another credit score algorithm with a different scale.

Wow I got a 721 FICO score using Quizzle. How accurate is this thing?

as it says in the link, Quizzle provides your Experian credit score, not your FICO score

i don't know how close they are numerically, but they should be based on the same data, so it should be some what close, i would guess

Apply for a loan. If you get it, then your credit score didn't matter (but you can always ask the bank for it). If you don't get it, then you are entitled to a free report (and usually the bank will just tell you the score). So, either way, you'll probably get the score for free.

It isn't the score that matters at all to you. It is the report that matters. You can directly change items in the report, you can't directly change the score. And you can always get the report for free (annualcreditreport.com). The score is just a few bucks more if you really want that useless number.

But, if you really want a score, they are fairly easy to calculate yourself. You don't get the exact formula, but they tell you how many points go to each item. Thus, it isn't very difficult at all to come within 10 points just by giving honest inputs into it.

Hi guys! I hope you don't mind me chiming in. I work at Quizzle and wanted to clarify that the free credit score we offer is a CE Score based on your free Experian credit report. We've thoroughly tested this scoring model and found that it tracks very closely with your true mid-score (the middle score of your three scores that lenders use to qualify you for a loan). The scale is 350-850.

Also, we're no longer owned by Quicken Loans. We're still a part of the same family of companies, but we recently spun off to become our own consumer finance business.

If you have any other questions about Quizzle, the credit score we offer or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact us at feedback[at]quizzle[dot]com. Have a good one!

Iirc, Experian credit score goes to 950 as opposed to 850 for fico.

That would be an equivalent fico score of 645.

In other words, pay your bills.

I recently checked my free annual report and had no late payments, with my oldest account being established when I was 18. Nothing else really to speak of, except a a few credit checks. My Quizzle score was 659.

I remember a few years ago I checked my score and it was 750 or so. I'm a little in debt now but not more than 6% of my available credit.. I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

You need multiple types of good credit for your score to go up. Just credit cards won't do it. Auto/home/other installment accounts. Strange, I know but that's the way it is. Go to howstuffworks.com and search credit score.

Go to an auto dealership and tell them that you'd like to buy a car, but you are afraid your credit won't let you. They'll have you in a credit app faster than you can say "Dave Ramsey". Then just ask them what your score is. A good dealership will let you look at the report, too. I

christ are you guys incapable of reading, or just comprehension?
No, we just have a higher level of comprehension. We realise that the credit REPORT is what matters, not the score. But, I doubt many people here will comprehend that.

A report is what contains your information. A report is what can be wrong. A report is what you can directly change and affect. A report is what matters. A score is just a very crude summary of the report.

winner winner , chicken dinner
thanks for the clarification quizzle employee person :awe:

Anyone know if the Employment history matters at all? Mine is about 10 years out of date. Transunion lets you add employers, the others don't give that option.

Glad someone brought this up, reminded me to check my report. Both Transunion and Experian have one of my Credit Card accounts messed up. Guessing because the account number was changed due to unauthorized charges.
